Competion

At times, competition for me can seem scary and intimidating, but once I hit the ice, my nerves shrink away. Because once I step out onto the ice to compete, I keep thinking that it's just another step to get to Regionals. Which is, for me, the biggest competition of the season. If I compete well there, then I could have the chance to make it to Junior Nationals! You know, its really weird, because my big nerves don't usually come out until after I have competed and I am waiting for the results. But in the end, competitions are just another way to put your skills to the test!

It's not about me, it's about us!

Hey guys, me again! As you obviously already know, skating is a HUGE part of my life. But its not just a commitment to me, its for my whole family. Although I have gotten so far in my skating, I definitely couldn't have accomplished it all if my family never made the sacrifices that they did.

My mom is a huge part of my skating because she is normally the one to pick me up from school and bring me to the rink. Then after he finishes work, my dad rushes over to the rink to pick me up and bring me home. Not only do my parents contribute a lot of their time to my skating, but also a lot of money.

To support all of my skating costs, my mom has started to make jewelry to sell, plus my dad continues his job as faculty at the UConn School of Pharmacy. Along with my parents, my grandparents have also devoted much money and support to my skating.

And at the end of the day, even my sister Sarah, now 3 and brother Jonathan, now 9, are a part of it all. They give up a lot of their free time to accompany me at the ice rink. Although they would much rather be outside playing with their friends, they give a lot of it up for me to go skating.

So now as you can probably tell, its not about me, its about us!
